Nature50 is a global initiative founded by Inovasi Digital to drive the transformation of commodity value chains. Through 50 strategic actions, we are committed to delivering real solutions to the challenges of climate, social justice, and supply chain sustainability.
By connecting science, technology, and cross-sector collaboration, Nature50 serves as a shared platform for governments, businesses, communities, and civil society to realize a more just, transparent, and resilient system of production and consumption.
Our mission is to bridge the gap between global supply chain commitments and the realities of tropical landscapes. While companies have embraced No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation (NDPE) policies, implementation on the ground often remains fragmented. Nature50 works to turn these commitments into concrete actions that protect forests, restore degraded lands, and improve the lives of local communities.
By connecting communities, local governments, and businesses, we co-create solutions that deliver both climate resilience and social justice. Through our interventions—such as enabling smallholders to access sustainable markets, supporting companies to recover from past deforestation, and protecting critical habitats—we demonstrate that global value chains can be transformed when anchored in inclusive and transparent landscape action. Our mission is to make sustainability tangible, measurable, and shared across 50 landscapes worldwide.
Challenges We Face
- Over 600,000 hectares of new palm oil plantations were developed after NDPE commitments, clearing nearly 380,000 hectares of forest and over 110,000 hectares of peatland since 2015.
- Deforestation and peat loss continue to generate massive carbon emissions, undermining zero-deforestation targets.
- Traceability gaps persist — smallholders and mid-tier suppliers often remain outside verified, deforestation-free systems.
- Certification schemes cover productivity but protect less than 1% of certified land as conservation areas.
- Climate risks and weak governance threaten long-term forest and peatland protection.
- Global regulations (EUDR, CSRD) now demand verified, traceable, and inclusive low-carbon supply chains.
