Inovasi Digital in Assisting the ADM’s Supplier

The implementation of the EU Deforestation-Free Regulation (EUDR) is fast approaching, requiring operators and traders who want to market their goods in the European Union to be well-prepared and knowledgeable about the regulationā€™s requirements. ADM, one of Inovasi Digitalā€™s partners, markets most of its palm oil products to the European market. Therefore, a thorough understanding of the EUDR requirements is essential for ADM and its suppliers. This need prompted Inovasi Digital to conduct training for ADMā€™s suppliers, covering the EUDR and introducing Inovasi Agriplot, a solution for EUDR compliance. This training is organized as a series of three sessions, which will be held in Medan, Lampung, and Kuala Lumpur, involving ADM suppliers in the palm oil industry.

1. Suppliers’ Training in Medan, Indonesia

On May 8, 2024, Inovasi Digital, held a meeting with ADM suppliers titled “Assisting Supplier Readiness for EUDR Implementation with Inovasi Agriplot Due Diligence System” in Medan, Indonesia. At this event, Inovasi Digital provided suppliers with an introduction to EUDR, the requirements for EUDR compliance, and an explanation of Inovasi Agriplot, a turn-key solution for EUDR assessment and compliance. The objective of this meeting was to support ADMā€™s suppliers’ preparation for EUDR compliance later this year.

In this meeting, the suppliers; including growers, mills, and palm oil dealers, were given a presentation on EUDR, from the history of the regulation to the key requirements and challenges. The goal of this presentation is to help suppliers understand the real challenges ahead and prepare themselves to meet the requirements. Next, the audience was introduced to the Inovasi Agriplot Due Diligence System, a solution created by Inovasi Digital to address all the EUDR requirements for both operators and traders. With the introduction of Inovasi Agriplot DDS, ADM suppliers can learn the workings to ensure a smooth transition to the utilization of the system.

2. Suppliers’ Training in Lampung, Indonesia

On May 31, 2024, Inovasi Digital held another meeting with ADM’s suppliers in Lampung, Indonesia, to reinforce a common understanding of the EUDR requirements for operators and traders aiming to place their goods in the European market. Just like the meeting conducted in Medan, this meeting was held by Inovasi Digital to ensure our partners are well-prepared for the implementation of EUDR, both in terms of understanding and technicalities.

During the session, suppliers were presented with real challenges and informed about the various necessary pieces of information they must prepare to meet the required criteria. These include supplier information and traceability, deforestation information, legal compliance information, and other relevant data.

Suppliers were encouraged to freely ask questions and discuss the challenges they are facing, such as farmer traceability, the concept of plots, and the EU approval system for each shipment

3. Suppliers’ Training in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

On 27 June 2024, Inovasi Digital conducted another training for ADM’s suppliers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to help suppliers understand EUDR requirements and make sure they are in compliance.

Similar to the meeting held in Medan and Lampung, this session was organized by Inovasi Digital to ensure our partners are thoroughly prepared for the implementation of EUDR, both in understanding and technical aspects.

In this training, Inovasi Digital assessed the understanding and awareness of the participating companies regarding EUDR compliance requirements. To ensure that the suppliers thoroughly comprehend all aspects of EUDR, a questionnaire was administered.

It is hoped that this training by Inovasi Digital will enhance the success and capacity of our partners to meet EUDR standards, understanding the regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance, and addressing technical aspects related to deforestation-free supply chains.
