EUDR Assessment Methodology Socialization and Supplier Capacity Building

Inovasi Digital, in collaboration with our implementation partner, Unilever, conducted a two-day event titled “EUDR Assessment Methodology Socialization and Supplier Capacity Building” for one of Unilever’s key suppliers, PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV (Persero). The event was held at PTPN’s Regional Office II in Medan, North Sumatra, from October 31 to November 1, 2024, with over 30 participants from PTPN IV in attendance.

🗓During the first day of the program, participants were provided with a comprehensive overview of the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) requirements and essential data collection, including TTP (Traceability to Plantation) and deforestation data, as well as due diligence obligations such as geolocation and legal compliance. The participants were also introduced to the Inovasi Agriplot tool, designed to assist in meeting EUDR requirements through supplier mapping, plantation area geolocation, deforestation analysis, and risk assessment and mitigation strategies for PTPN’s fruit sources.

🗓The second day of the session focused on the implementation of GreenToken, a digital tool for tracking the supply chain. Participants engaged in hands-on simulations and case studies to deepen their understanding of the tool’s functionalities. The event concluded with a detailed risk assessment related to the origin of fruit sources, as well as discussions on potential mitigation actions. These included optimizing Traceability to Plantation, establishing boundaries, legalizing, certifying, and improving smallholder programs, implementing effective policies, and conducting internal audits.

This training program is expected to serve as a valuable platform for EUDR suppliers and operators, equipping them to fulfill the necessary EUDR compliance components and thereby ensuring smooth access to the EU market.
