Inovasi Digital at SMART SEED XI: Advancing Collective Action in Sustainable Palm Oil Supply Chains
Inovasi Digital was honored to participate in SMART SEED XI (Social and Environmental Excellence Development), hosted by Sinar Mas Agro Resources and Technology (PT SMART Tbk) / GAR on 11 November 2025 in Medan.
We extend our sincere appreciation to GAR for delivering a well-organized and impactful event and for providing a platform that brought together suppliers, partners, and stakeholders across the palm oil value chain.
A Shared Commitment: Collective for Impact
This year’s theme, “GAR Sustainability Journey: Collective for Impact, Together in Action,” reflects the growing recognition that addressing the challenges of the palm oil industry requires collaboration across the entire supply chain.
Sustainability today goes beyond compliance. It encompasses not only commitments to No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation (NDPE), but also the integration of Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) and broader accountability across operations.
The launch of GAR’s Collective for Impact initiative further emphasizes the importance of coordinated action—bringing together suppliers, smallholders, and partners to drive measurable, long-term change across supply chains.
Engaging Stakeholders Across the Supply Chain
SMART SEED XI convened a diverse audience, including GAR suppliers, sustainability partners, NGOs, government representatives, and industry stakeholders. The event served as a space for dialogue on key topics shaping the sector, including:
- NDPE implementation and monitoring
- greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and Scope 3 reporting
- smallholder inclusion and capacity building
- human rights and responsible sourcing practices
Through panel discussions, knowledge-sharing sessions, and partner engagements, the event reinforced the importance of aligning sustainability commitments with practical implementation across different levels of the supply chain.
Showcasing Digital Solutions for Traceability and Compliance
As part of our participation, Inovasi Digital hosted an exhibition booth and delivered a presentation session, showcasing our digital solutions designed to support:
- traceability to plantation level
- no-deforestation verification and compliance monitoring
- GHG tracking and emissions visibility
- smallholder inclusion and supplier engagement
- re-entry and remediation monitoring for suppliers
Through live demonstrations and discussions, we engaged with suppliers and stakeholders on how digital tools can help transform complex supply chain data into actionable insights—supporting both compliance requirements and operational decision-making.

The interactions at SMART SEED XI highlighted a shared challenge across the industry: moving beyond commitments toward effective, scalable implementation.
Stakeholders are increasingly seeking solutions that not only ensure compliance, but also:
