Data-Driven Verification for Deforestation-Free Supply Chains

VDF/DCF Assessment

Scroll

Verified Deforestation-Free (VDF) and Deforestation and Conversion-Free (DCF) Assessments are Inovasi Digital’s advanced methodologies designed to verify and demonstrate that palm oil supply chains are genuinely deforestation-free.

Using a data-driven, spatially enabled verification approach, both VDF and DCF combine traceability to mill and plantation with field validation and NDPE (No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation) compliance assessments. Each framework identifies deforestation risks across the entire supply chain — from refineries and mills to plantations — while also evaluating corrective actions, sustainability performance, and corporate commitments.

While their methodology and analytical outcomes are closely aligned, the key distinction lies in their cut-off dates and regulatory focus:

  • VDF aligns with the NDPE cut-off date of 2016, ensuring compliance with industry-driven sustainability policies.

  • DCF adheres to the EUDR (EU Deforestation Regulation) cut-off date of 2020, addressing the latest international compliance requirements.

Both assessments apply a transparent, quantitative scoring system that delivers verifiable insights into supplier performance, supporting responsible sourcing, compliance reporting, and stakeholder transparency.

With VDF and DCF, companies gain the clarity, credibility, and confidence to demonstrate real deforestation-free progress, meet global sustainability standards, and strengthen trust across their palm oil value chain.
